David Seldes nació en Argentina en 1985. Estudió Lic. en Diseño de Iluminación de Espectáculos de la UNA (Universidad Nacional de las Artes).
Habla español nativo, inglés avanzado y portugués y alemán básicos. Tiene conocimientos avanzados de programación de consolas de Iluminacion y de Dibujo Asistido por Computadora (CAD)
Ha realizado diseños de iluminación para mas de 100 producciones incluyendo teatro, danza, opera, performance y artes visuales. Ha colaborado con directores y coreógrafos entre los que se incluyen Valeria Ambrosio, Lola Arias, Oscar Barney Finn, Julio Bocca, Guillermo Cacace, Betty Gambartes, Pablo Maritano, Silvio Lang, Federico León, Ricky Pashkus, Diana Szeinblum, Alejandro Tantanian, Carlos Trunsky, Ciro Zorzoli. Estas obras se presentaron en teatros en Buenos Aires como el Teatro San Martín, el Teatro Nacional Cervantes y el Teatro Colón, también en festivales en Alemania, Austria, Bélgica, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Escocia, España, Estados Unidos, Francia, Gran Bretaña, Grecia, Holanda, Italia, Japón, Portugal, Suiza, Uruguay.
Ha sido nominado a Premios Teatro del Mundo (2018), Premios Florencio Sanchez (2016), Premios Javier Villafañe (2016), Premios Hugo (2015), Premios ACE (2013), Premios Teatro del Mundo (2012), Premios Trinidad Guevara (2010), Premios Teatro del Mundo (2008), Premios Trinidad Guevara (2008).
En Artes Visuales ha trabajado con Guillermo Kuitca en el Centro Cultural Kirchner (2018), con Graciela Hasper en arteBA (2013), y con Leandro Katz en Fundación Telefónica (2013).
Ha sido convocado por Karina Peisajovich a exponer en el Taller "Technicolor" en la Universidad Di Tella (2019). Dio charlas sobre Color en el 3er y 4to Congreso Argentino de Iluminación Escénica (2015 y 2016). Dictó para el INT el curso “Plan de Iluminación de Espectáculos” (2015). Fue invitado por la Universidad de Palermo para disertar en el ciclo “Seminarios de Autor en Teatro y Espectáculos” (2014) y dictó la materia “Iluminación” en la Escuela de escenografía Saulo Benavente (2013).
En el inicio de la pandemia fue invitado por el CCK a realizar "Situaciones" en donde se le propuso intervenir junto a otrxs artistas de las artes escénicas el edificio vacío del CCK. También fue invitado Teatro Nacional Cervantes a dialogar en el ciclo "Conversaciones" junto a otrxs colegas diseñadores de iluminación.
Ha realizado el diseño de iluminación para el show de los 200 Ańos de la Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (UBA) en las escalinatas de la Facultad de Derecho de dicha Universidad y los 400 Años de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) en el campus de la misma.
David Seldes was born in Argentina in 1985. He studied Stage Lighting Design at the National University of Arts (Universidad Nacional de las Artes) in Argentina.
Seldes created a vast number of Lighting Designs for Theater, Dance, Opera, Performance and Visual Arts, collaborating on productions directed by a wide range of directors and choreographers, including Valeria Ambrosio, Lola Arias, Oscar Barney Finn, Julio Bocca, Guillermo Cacace, Betty Gambartes, Pablo Maritano, Silvio Lang, Federico León, Ricky Pashkus, Mariano Pensotti, Alejandro Tantanian, Carlos Trunsky, Ciro Zorzoli, among others. These shows were staged in independent and official theatres in Buenos Aires (such as San Martín Theatre, Cervantes National Theatre and Colón Opera House) and in festivals in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and USA.
He speaks native Spanish, advanced English and basic Portuguese and German. Has advanced knowledge of programming lighting consoles and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)

In Visual Arts he collaborated with Guillermo Kuitca in Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK - 2018), Graciela Hasper in arteBA (2013), and Leandro Katz in Fundación Telefónica (2013).
He gave the Workshop "Technicolor" in Di Tella University hosted by Karina Peisajovich (Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, 2019). Offered seminars about Light and Color in the 3rd and 4th editions of the Argentinian Symposium of Stage Lighting (Congreso Argentino de Iluminación Escénica, 2015, 2016). Dictated the course “Stage Lighting Plan” for the National Institute of Theater of Argentina (Instituto Nacional del Teatro, 2015). The University of Palermo invited him to speak in the Cycle “Authors of Theatre and Live Shows” (Universidad de Palermo, 2014). He was a teacher of the “Lighting” subject in Saulo Benavente School for Stage Design (Escuela de Escenografia Saulo Benavente, 2013).
At the beginning of the pandemic, he was invited by the CCK to carry out "Situaciones" where he was proposed to intervene together with other performing arts artists in the empty CCK building. The Cervantes National Theater also invited him to speak in the "Conversaciones" series together with other lighting designer colleagues.
He made the lighting design for the show of the 200 Years of the National University of Buenos Aires (UBA) on the facade of the Law School, and the 400 Years of the National University of Córdoba (UNC) on the campus of said university.
